Little Kids in Costumes

I watched a cop tell a Star Wars Storm Trooper that he was under arrest. I caught a dead soccer player picking out apples. I met a Ninja Turtle. All of this happened at the Magical & Healthy Halloween Party at Whole Foods in St. Louis on Friday, October 29, 2010. Monk Mikey Wagner, an employee at Whole Foods, and his 3-year-old son Popeye, sometimes known as Dorian, trick-or-treated around Whole Foods on Friday. Popeye was shocked to see that his father had shaved a giant circle in the back of his head.

Melodie Carroll, 9, decorates a sugar cookie at Whole Foods Market on Friday. Melodie is dressed as a black cat. She got the idea for the pink wig from a magazine.

Ferocious Charlie Summers, 9 months old, dressed as a lion for the Magical and Healthy Halloween Party at Whole Foods.

Monster Oliver Tazmin, 3, prepares to enjoy the first bite of the cookie he decorated with icing. Monster Tazmin went on to drop his cookie on the floor before he could finish it. Tears and a big bottom lip ensued.

Ice Cream Man

Ice Cream Man, Tin Winfield, has worked in the Maplewood, Mo area since 2008. "It is all about the kids," says Winfield. A salesman by trade, Winfield plans to sell hot tubs after the ice cream truck season ends next week. If you are wondering what Winfield does with all of the left-over ice cream that he does not sell: he says that the ice cream sandwiches are his favorite:)

Creepy, Spine-chilling, Hair-raising, Slightly over-priced

Masks at Johnny Brock's Dungeon, a halloween store in St. Louis, Mo., range from $15 to $150.

Texas: Wright-Patman Lake

My first time in Texas. These are taken at a conservation area about 30 miles southwest of Texarkana. The stray dog-affectionately nick-named Bobler-tracked us down to the river. We had given him a treat after seeing him on the side of the road. Somehow he found us about an hour and several miles later. He fished with us all night. Thank goodness he ran off, because I would have no doubt brought him home with me.

Walking School Bus

Long time no see, but I am back to give my blog a little attention. I recently started freelancing for Patch.com. Here are some photos that I took for an assignment about a group of kids and moms that walk to Mark Twain Elementary School everyday. This particular day was "Pajama Day" so the kids look extra adorable.
